As of this week, we have moved back to the town I went to college - Lakeland, FL. Both Barb and I are very relieved now that we have moved, as to be honest Pinellas County where we lived for 13 years was a cesspool of weirdos and oddballs which we did not relate to. The move was a little sooner than planned, and Barb and I packed a 24-foot Budget truck ourselves which lead to many aches and pains I still am suffering from as I write this, but in the long run it is worth it. It is a new beginning for us, and I am quite at peace about it.
If you ever have experienced a move, you know that many things are involved and feelings get a bit mixed. For me, it is the general feeling of being uprooted, and a sort of detachment from your stuff that can feel uncomfortable. Also, the apprehension of potentially breaking/damaging fragile items - fortunately, we did extremely well with that this move! - can be a bit unsettling. However, one of the biggest challenges for us was trying to corral 4 cats in the move, and the logistics of that are somewhat strenuous too. Overall, I am just glad it is over!!
We basically love the new place, and although by no means a perfect house it is nonetheless a nice house for us. And, I see many possibilities with our location, etc. We anticipate a few good years there before ultimately buying a house up north somewhere and leaving Florida altogether, which is our ultimate goal. Next move though, we use professionals - am getting way too old for moving a whole house ourselves!
That being said, a new chapter in our lives is about to begin, and I am looking forward to writing it. In many ways, the old chapter continues, but on the other hand a lot of new things will be established. However that is true of life in general.
Any rate, that is just a short update on where we are and what we are doing, and I will continue to give some good stuff as I go along, and I hope many of you will likewise have good chapters in your lives too. Take care until next time.
